{"id":12,"date":"2010-10-02T22:12:57","date_gmt":"2010-10-03T05:12:57","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blog.tangledstrands.com\/?p=12"},"modified":"2010-11-08T13:14:44","modified_gmt":"2010-11-08T21:14:44","slug":"blue-leaves","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/blog.tangledstrands.com\/?p=12","title":{"rendered":"Blue Leaves"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I know, leaves don&#8217;t really come in this color &#8211; but I&#8217;m a blue girl.\u00c2\u00a0 When I&#8217;m not wearing black or brown, that is.\u00c2\u00a0 And this item should fit right into my wardrobe.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/blog.tangledstrands.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/10\/CIMG0146_trm_md.jpg\"><\/a><a href=\"http:\/\/blog.tangledstrands.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/10\/CIMG0146_trm_md1.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-16\" title=\"CIMG0146_trm_md\" src=\"http:\/\/blog.tangledstrands.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/10\/CIMG0146_trm_md1-279x300.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"279\" height=\"300\" srcset=\"http:\/\/blog.tangledstrands.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/10\/CIMG0146_trm_md1-279x300.jpg 279w, http:\/\/blog.tangledstrands.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/10\/CIMG0146_trm_md1-953x1024.jpg 953w, http:\/\/blog.tangledstrands.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/10\/CIMG0146_trm_md1.jpg 1170w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 279px) 100vw, 279px\" \/><\/a><br \/>\nThe Thrifty Knitter&#8217;s <a title=\"The Thrifty Knitter's Woodland Shawl\" href=\"http:\/\/thriftyknitter.com\/?p=219\" target=\"_blank\">Woodland Shawl<\/a> pattern is beautiful in a handpainted or softly variegated drapey yarn.\u00c2\u00a0 For a lace pattern, it is very easy to follow &#8211; once it is set up, the stitches hint at the flow of the pattern and what should come next.\u00c2\u00a0 And it goes so fast that I can queue up a documentary or movie I&#8217;ve watched a dozen times and zip through one of the 16-row repeats in an hour or two.\u00c2\u00a0 I would definitely recommend it for someone new to lace, and even to an experienced knitter who wants an easy pattern that is still interesting.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/blog.tangledstrands.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/10\/CIMG0147_trm_md.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-13\" title=\"CIMG0147_trm_md\" src=\"http:\/\/blog.tangledstrands.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/10\/CIMG0147_trm_md-300x263.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"263\" srcset=\"http:\/\/blog.tangledstrands.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/10\/CIMG0147_trm_md-300x263.jpg 300w, http:\/\/blog.tangledstrands.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/10\/CIMG0147_trm_md-1024x900.jpg 1024w, http:\/\/blog.tangledstrands.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/10\/CIMG0147_trm_md.jpg 1256w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a>I like that this pattern is rectangular, adjustable (length and width), and lacks the pointy scallops that seem to show up in all the shawl patterns lately.\u00c2\u00a0 I really don&#8217;t care to painstakingly block and pull out all those little points.\u00c2\u00a0 Not like that kind of frill is really my personality anyway.\u00c2\u00a0 So this one scores major points.\u00c2\u00a0 I&#8217;m making it up in the original width and will go longer, which means that I can wear it as a scarf with everything.<\/p>\n<p>I fell in love with the Blue Gingham colorway of this <a title=\"Madeline Tosh - Tosh Merino\" href=\"http:\/\/www.madelinetosh.com\/yarns-tosh-merino.html\" target=\"_blank\">Madeline Tosh Merino<\/a> &#8211; though I can&#8217;t seem to find it on the site.\u00c2\u00a0 (Maybe that&#8217;s because it&#8217;s so new?)\u00c2\u00a0 It&#8217;s turning out to be a good choice for this pattern; just the right kind of drape and so soft to the touch.<\/p>\n<p>The weather is beginning to feel very fall-like now and I see signs that the trees are ready to turn their leaves.\u00c2\u00a0 I hope I finish in time to wear it soon!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I know, leaves don&#8217;t really come in this color &#8211; but I&#8217;m a blue girl.\u00c2\u00a0 When I&#8217;m not wearing black or brown, that is.\u00c2\u00a0 And this item should fit right into my wardrobe.
