{"id":174,"date":"2011-02-09T15:08:23","date_gmt":"2011-02-09T23:08:23","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blog.tangledstrands.com\/?p=174"},"modified":"2011-02-09T15:08:23","modified_gmt":"2011-02-09T23:08:23","slug":"a-crochet-adventure-in-lace","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/blog.tangledstrands.com\/?p=174","title":{"rendered":"A Crochet Adventure in Lace"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: left;\">Since I have finished all of my long-term knitting group-worthy  projects, I had to find a new one to occupy my time for the next several  months.\u00c2\u00a0 Enter the crochet lace project.\u00c2\u00a0 For now, it&#8217;s a sleeveless  top, to be worn over a camisole or the pictured lavender dress I picked up from a  <a title=\"Jen Maxine on Etsy\" href=\"http:\/\/www.etsy.com\/shop\/jenmaxine2\" target=\"_blank\">vintage seller on Etsy<\/a>.\u00c2\u00a0 This is another made-up adventure based on a  crochet stitch pattern found in <a title=\"Amazon - 101 Crochet Stitches\" href=\"http:\/\/www.amazon.com\/101-Crochet-Stitches-international-crochet\/dp\/0881956937\/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&amp;qid=1297119324&amp;sr=8-3\" target=\"_blank\">101 Crochet Stitches<\/a>.\u00c2\u00a0 Seriously, I love this book so much I need to perform surgery on the binding.\u00c2\u00a0 It&#8217;s falling apart from so much use.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/blog.tangledstrands.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/02\/IMG_5133_clr_trm_sm.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-172\" title=\"IMG_5133_clr_trm_sm\" src=\"http:\/\/blog.tangledstrands.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/02\/IMG_5133_clr_trm_sm-300x300.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"300\" srcset=\"http:\/\/blog.tangledstrands.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/02\/IMG_5133_clr_trm_sm-300x300.jpg 300w, http:\/\/blog.tangledstrands.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/02\/IMG_5133_clr_trm_sm-150x150.jpg 150w, http:\/\/blog.tangledstrands.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/02\/IMG_5133_clr_trm_sm.jpg 998w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a>Yes,  that&#8217;s a pineapple stitch pattern, upside down because I&#8217;m working  top-down.\u00c2\u00a0 I like it.\u00c2\u00a0 Reminds me of pine cones instead.\u00c2\u00a0 And I&#8217;m all  about the pine trees right now.\u00c2\u00a0 I also like how the color of the dress peeks through between the stitches.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">It&#8217;s also a good thing that I&#8217;m  not afraid of ripping out my work.\u00c2\u00a0 Several hours&#8217; worth even.\u00c2\u00a0 I have a looooong history of ripping out.\u00c2\u00a0 It&#8217;s a part of experimental creativity, right?\u00c2\u00a0 This time I  went too far on both the front and back pieces before laying them on  the dress form in their proper places.\u00c2\u00a0 I needed to start joining the  underarm sections much sooner.\u00c2\u00a0 Crum!<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><a href=\"..\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/02\/IMG_5142_clr_trm_sm.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" title=\"IMG_5142_clr_trm_sm\" src=\"..\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/02\/IMG_5142_clr_trm_sm-300x265.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"265\" \/><\/a>Oh well, I did say it was an adventure.\u00c2\u00a0  I have the stitch pattern memorized now.\u00c2\u00a0 And I&#8217;m nearly back to the  point where I started ripping out, sides joined under the arms of course  and continuing in the round toward the bottom hem.\u00c2\u00a0 Super Bowl stitching is so productive!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Since I have finished all of my long-term knitting group-worthy projects, I had to find a new one to occupy my time for the next several months.\u00c2\u00a0 Enter the crochet lace project.\u00c2\u00a0 For now, it&#8217;s a sleeveless top, to be &hellip;
