{"id":570,"date":"2015-06-12T08:17:25","date_gmt":"2015-06-12T15:17:25","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blog.tangledstrands.com\/?p=570"},"modified":"2015-06-12T08:17:25","modified_gmt":"2015-06-12T15:17:25","slug":"needlepoint-in-waiting","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/blog.tangledstrands.com\/?p=570","title":{"rendered":"Needlepoint in Waiting"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I was digging through some of my craft storage boxes a few weeks ago and happened upon this not-so-little treasure.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/blog.tangledstrands.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/06\/IMG_20150608_113251_clr_sm.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-572\" src=\"http:\/\/blog.tangledstrands.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/06\/IMG_20150608_113251_clr_sm-300x225.jpg\" alt=\"IMG_20150608_113251_clr_sm\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" srcset=\"http:\/\/blog.tangledstrands.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/06\/IMG_20150608_113251_clr_sm-300x225.jpg 300w, http:\/\/blog.tangledstrands.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/06\/IMG_20150608_113251_clr_sm.jpg 1000w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a>This is the nearly-finished needlepoint project I worked from a pattern in the book <a href=\"http:\/\/www.amazon.com\/Icelandic-Patterns-Needlepoint-Easy---Stitch\/dp\/0715399888\/\" target=\"_blank\">Icelandic Patterns in Needlepoint<\/a>.\u00c2\u00a0 <em>Years<\/em> ago.\u00c2\u00a0 Seriously &#8211; at least eight years.\u00c2\u00a0 It&#8217;s been patiently waiting in that box ever since.\u00c2\u00a0 All for want of backing and hanging loops.<\/p>\n<p><em>Geez!\u00c2\u00a0 <\/em>Get moving on that!\u00c2\u00a0 All of those hours of work deserve to be out on display.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/blog.tangledstrands.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/06\/IMG_20150608_113232_clr_sm.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-571\" src=\"http:\/\/blog.tangledstrands.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/06\/IMG_20150608_113232_clr_sm-300x225.jpg\" alt=\"IMG_20150608_113232_clr_sm\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" srcset=\"http:\/\/blog.tangledstrands.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/06\/IMG_20150608_113232_clr_sm-300x225.jpg 300w, http:\/\/blog.tangledstrands.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/06\/IMG_20150608_113232_clr_sm.jpg 1000w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a>I was and still am very happy with how it turned out.\u00c2\u00a0 The only questions at this point are:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>What material to use as a backing fabric?<\/li>\n<li>Whether to hang it horizontally or vertically?<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>I&#8217;m thinking this will be a lovely addition to the blue artwork in my bright front living room.\u00c2\u00a0 Maybe over the small antique secretary desk that I inherited from my grandmother&#8230;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I was digging through some of my craft storage boxes a few weeks ago and happened upon this not-so-little treasure.
