{"id":713,"date":"2015-10-26T12:28:42","date_gmt":"2015-10-26T19:28:42","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blog.tangledstrands.com\/?p=713"},"modified":"2015-10-26T12:31:48","modified_gmt":"2015-10-26T19:31:48","slug":"goats","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/blog.tangledstrands.com\/?p=713","title":{"rendered":"Goats!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I solemnly swear that I am not going to come home with a baby goat anytime soon.\u00c2\u00a0 Really.\u00c2\u00a0 Seriously.\u00c2\u00a0 Instead, I&#8217;m living that side of the fibery life through someone with their very own fiber farm.\u00c2\u00a0 I arrive, I help, I come back home and pass out from exhaustion.<\/p>\n<p>It seems we were so helpful at the last goat shearing event, that the owners of the fiber farm invited us back to help out with shearing the last of the goats in residence.\u00c2\u00a0 Yay!\u00c2\u00a0 So we bundled up in layers &#8211; he was amazingly friendly during most of his health and beauty time.\u00c2\u00a0 Really, he just didn&#8217;t like being caught, hauled up onto a table, and subjected to the electric shears.\u00c2\u00a0 The whole thing is very undignified!<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/blog.tangledstrands.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/10\/IMG_2645_clr_trm_sm.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-716\" src=\"http:\/\/blog.tangledstrands.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/10\/IMG_2645_clr_trm_sm-300x234.jpg\" alt=\"IMG_2645_clr_trm_sm\" width=\"300\" height=\"234\" srcset=\"http:\/\/blog.tangledstrands.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/10\/IMG_2645_clr_trm_sm-300x234.jpg 300w, http:\/\/blog.tangledstrands.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/10\/IMG_2645_clr_trm_sm.jpg 1000w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Curious fuzzy nose meets exposed sensitive skin of the back.\u00c2\u00a0 Hey, that tickles!<\/p>\n<p>My new trick to learn this outing was to try holding one of the girls upside down while the shearers trimmed up the legs and sensitive areas.\u00c2\u00a0 This lady was the best for this training session, since she immediately settled down when we flipped her.\u00c2\u00a0 She was so relaxed at one point that she almost fell asleep!<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/blog.tangledstrands.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/10\/IMG_2649_clr_trm_sm.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-717\" src=\"http:\/\/blog.tangledstrands.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/10\/IMG_2649_clr_trm_sm-300x226.jpg\" alt=\"IMG_2649_clr_trm_sm\" width=\"300\" height=\"226\" srcset=\"http:\/\/blog.tangledstrands.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/10\/IMG_2649_clr_trm_sm-300x226.jpg 300w, http:\/\/blog.tangledstrands.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/10\/IMG_2649_clr_trm_sm.jpg 1000w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Not everyone got this relaxed while on the table.\u00c2\u00a0 I got really good at dodging those back hooves while wielding the scissors in the ticklish inner thighs and lower belly.\u00c2\u00a0 Yes, even goats have tickle spots.<\/p>\n<p>You know we&#8217;re coming back to help out at the spring shearing, right?<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/blog.tangledstrands.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/10\/IMG_2650_clr_trm_sm.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-718\" src=\"http:\/\/blog.tangledstrands.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/10\/IMG_2650_clr_trm_sm-236x300.jpg\" alt=\"IMG_2650_clr_trm_sm\" width=\"236\" height=\"300\" srcset=\"http:\/\/blog.tangledstrands.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/10\/IMG_2650_clr_trm_sm-236x300.jpg 236w, http:\/\/blog.tangledstrands.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/10\/IMG_2650_clr_trm_sm.jpg 788w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 236px) 100vw, 236px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Hopefully then we&#8217;ll get to cuddle some baby goats!\u00c2\u00a0 Most of the ladies we handled were getting ready for their date with the guys.\u00c2\u00a0 The owners are hoping for several births next spring.<\/p>\n<p>(I <em>will not<\/em> adopt a baby goat.\u00c2\u00a0 I <em>will not<\/em> adopt a baby goat&#8230;)<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I solemnly swear that I am not going to come home with a baby goat anytime soon.\u00c2\u00a0 Really.\u00c2\u00a0 Seriously.\u00c2\u00a0 Instead, I&#8217;m living that side of the fibery life through someone with their very own fiber farm.\u00c2\u00a0 I arrive, I help, &hellip;
